# Comment-to-DM on every post

Use it when you say "comment LINK" on lots of posts. You set it up once. New posts are covered too.

## Do it in the dashboard

1. Open **Automations**, then **Comment to DM**, and choose **New automation**.
2. Give it a **Name** and pick the **Account**. Keep the trigger on **Keyword comment**.
3. Under **Which posts**, choose **Any post**.
4. Type your **Keywords**. Set **Match** to **Whole word** for short words.
5. Add words to **Ignore comments containing**, for example "scam" or "spam". A comment with one of these never gets a DM, even if it has your keyword.
6. Write the **Direct message** and add a button with your link. On Instagram it is sent after the commenter taps **Send me the link** (Button first).
7. Under **Repeats**, choose how often one person can get it (see below).
8. Choose **Create and start**, or turn off **Start active** to save it paused.

## Repeats: once or every time

- **Once per person**: each person gets this DM one time, ever. This is the default. It is the safe choice for an account-wide automation.
- **Every new comment**: a new comment can get the DM again. Add a **Cooldown per person** (1 to 720 hours) so the same person is not messaged again too soon.
- **Skip identical DMs**: skips the DM if this person already got the exact same text from this account, from any automation, within the hours you set.

## Who gets the DM (Instagram)

Under **Who gets the DM** you can choose **Everyone**, **Followers only** or **Non-followers only**, and set **Minimum followers**. These filters need **Link right away** under **How the DM is sent**: Button first always sends the button to everyone who comments.

There is a catch. Instagram only tells Pozy if someone follows you after they have messaged you. A comment does not count. So for most new commenters the answer is unknown. **When unknown** decides what happens:

- **Send anyway**: they get the DM. No real customer is dropped.
- **Skip them**: no DM.
- **Ask them to confirm**: they get a short message with a button first. Their tap lets Pozy check the follow, then send the real DM.

## Good to know

- Real DMs go out on Instagram and Facebook only. On TikTok, Threads, LinkedIn and YouTube, Pozy answers with a public reply under the comment instead. X is not supported.
- On Instagram and Facebook, comments reach Pozy right away, on any post. A backup check every 10 minutes catches missed ones on your 5 newest posts.
- On Threads, LinkedIn and YouTube there is only that backup check. So replies come within about 10 minutes, and only on your 5 newest posts.
- **Tolerate typos** also matches close misspellings, like "giude" for "guide".
- An empty keyword list answers every comment on every post. Use that with care.
- Platforms watch for the same message sent to many people fast. Add a few DM variations and a short **Delay before the DM**.
- Pozy only messages people who commented or wrote to you first.
