# Workflows: automatic conversations

It runs on its own, on one messaging account, every time its trigger fires.

## Where it works

Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, X, Bluesky and TikTok. Telegram is coming soon.

## Do it in the dashboard

1. Open **Automations**, then **Workflows**, and choose **New workflow**.
2. Pick a template or **Start from scratch**. Templates include **Welcome flow**, **Ref link offer**, **Comment-to-DM funnel**, **Lead form to WhatsApp** and **Story mention reply**.
3. Pick the **Account**, give it a **Name**, and choose **Create draft**.
4. On the canvas, choose **Add step**, or drag a step in. Connect steps by dragging from a step's bottom dot to the next one.
5. Click a step to change it in **Step settings**. Rewrite every example text and link.
6. Choose **Test run** to try it on your own conversation.
7. When the **Checks** panel says everything is connected, choose **Activate**.

## What starts it (triggers)

- **Message received**: someone sends a DM, with or without a keyword.
- **Comment on a post**: someone comments a word (Instagram, Facebook). The first message goes out as the private reply.
- **Story mention**: someone mentions you in their Instagram story.
- **Ref link or ad click**: someone opens the chat from your special link or a click-to-message ad. Pozy gives you **Your link** to share or turn into a QR code.
- **Reaction**: someone reacts to a message.
- **Lead form submitted**: someone fills in your Meta lead ad form, and the run messages them on WhatsApp.

## The steps

- **Messaging**: **Send message** (text, media, cards, buttons or a WhatsApp template).
- **Control flow**: **Condition** (branch on the answer), **Wait for reply**, **Delay** (up to 30 days), **A/B split**, **End**.
- **Contact data**: **Add tag**, **Remove tag**, **Set contact field**, **Enroll in sequence**.
- **Integrations**: **Hand off to a human**, **HubSpot contact**, **Webhook**, **AI step** (uses your own model key).

## Start a workflow from a comment-to-DM

Want a longer chat after a comment? In your [comment-to-DM](https://pozy.ai/help/automations/comment-to-dm), add a button of type **Reply button**. Under "when tapped", choose **Start** and your workflow. When the person taps, the workflow begins. The workflow must be active on the same account. The DM alone does not start it: the person has to tap.

## Good to know

- New workflows are drafts. Only an active workflow runs. If nothing happens, check that it is active.
- **Cooldown** stops the same person from starting it again too soon. It is 24 hours by default.
- To add steps to a live workflow, choose **Pause** first. Runs already going will finish.
- **Runs** shows each conversation step by step. **Versions** lets you go back to an older version.
- **Lead form submitted** runs need an approved [WhatsApp template](https://pozy.ai/help/messaging/whatsapp-templates) as the first message.
- Workflows only answer people who wrote, commented or signed up first.
