# Connect Stripe or Paddle

Once connected, your AI can see your recurring revenue, revenue from the last 30 days, active subscriptions, new customers, churn and top products. You paste the key once, per project.

## Stripe: do it in the dashboard

1. Open **Inputs** and pick the project at the top.
2. Under **Revenue**, on the **Stripe** card, choose **Connect**.
3. In Stripe, open Developers, then API keys, and click **Create restricted key**. The **Open Stripe API keys** link in Pozy takes you there.
4. Name it Pozy. Set every permission to None, except these six, which you set to Read: Charges and Refunds, Customers, Events, Products, Prices, Subscriptions.
5. Create the key and copy it.
6. Back in Pozy, paste it into **Restricted key** and choose **Connect Stripe**.

Pozy checks the key before it saves it. A restricted key starts with rk_live_ or rk_test_. A full secret key (it starts with sk_) is refused, because it can change your account. If a permission is missing, Pozy tells you which one to set to Read.

## Paddle: do it in the dashboard

1. Open **Inputs** and pick the project at the top.
2. Under **Revenue**, on the **Paddle** card, choose **Connect**.
3. In Paddle, open Developer tools, then Authentication, and create a new API key.
4. Give it read access to customers, notifications, prices, products, subscriptions and transactions. Nothing else.
5. Back in Pozy, paste it into **API key** and choose **Connect Paddle**.

It needs a Paddle Billing key. Sandbox keys work too.

## Or ask your AI

Your AI cannot connect Stripe or Paddle. You do that in Pozy, once. After that, ask:

> Read the sales numbers for My SaaS. How many new customers did we get in the last 30 days, and how many subscriptions ended?

## What the numbers mean

- **Revenue (30 days)** on Stripe is money from successful charges in the last 30 days, minus refunds, with tax. On Paddle it is completed and paid transactions, after discounts, with tax.
- **Recurring revenue** uses the list price of active subscriptions. Yearly and weekly plans are turned into a monthly figure. Discounts, tax and usage-based prices are left out.
- **Churned (30 days)** counts subscriptions that were canceled and ended in the last 30 days.

## Good to know

- Numbers sync once a day, at 05:00 UTC. So they can be up to a day old. Choose **Refresh** on the card to pull them now.
- Test keys work. The card then shows **Test data**.
- Your key is encrypted. Your AI never sees it.
- To add a second account, choose **Connect another**.
- If the card shows **Access revoked**, Stripe or Paddle no longer accepts the key. Disconnect it and connect a new key.
- **Disconnect** deletes the stored key and the numbers Pozy synced. Delete the key in Stripe or Paddle too if you no longer need it.
- Owners, admins and members can connect inputs. Viewers cannot.
