# WhatsApp Flows: forms inside the chat

You get clean answers (a name, an email, a date) instead of free text you have to read one by one.

## Do it in the dashboard

1. Open **WhatsApp**, then **Flows**, and choose **New flow**.
2. Give it a **Name** and pick one or more categories, like **Appointment booking**, **Lead generation** or **Survey**. Choose **Create draft**.
3. Open the draft and go to the **Flow JSON** tab. The screens are written in Meta's flow format. Choose **Start from a sample**, or paste screens your AI wrote for you. Then choose **Upload and validate**.
4. Fix any errors Meta lists. A flow with errors cannot be published.
5. On the **Overview** tab, choose **Open preview** to see the screens the way a customer will.
6. Choose **Publish**. This cannot be undone.
7. On the **Send** tab, type the number in **Send to**, a short **Button label** and a **Message**. Choose **Send flow**.
8. Read what people submitted on the **Responses** tab.

To try a draft before you publish, tick **Send the draft in test mode** on the **Send** tab and send it to your own phone.

## Change a published flow

A published flow is locked. To change it, choose **New version**. You get a draft copy to edit and publish. When the new version is live, **Deprecate** the old one so nobody gets it by mistake.

## Good to know

- **The 24-hour window applies.** A flow is a normal message, so the customer must have written to you in the last 24 hours. To reach someone else, send a [template](https://pozy.ai/help/messaging/whatsapp-templates) with a flow button.
- Leave **Flow token** empty when you send. That way the answers are grouped on the **Responses** tab.
- Each answer also arrives as a message in your [Inbox](https://pozy.ai/help/inbox/dms), so your [workflows](https://pozy.ai/help/automations/workflows) can react to it.
- **Data exchange** mode loads screens from your own server, for live data like free time slots. It needs a developer. Most flows do not need it.
- The preview link works without a login. Choose **New link** if you shared it by mistake. The old link stops working.
- Flows have no extra Pozy fee. Each one you send counts as one message.
