Track conversions with pixels
Put each ad network's pixel on your site in a few clicks, and send sales the pixel misses from your server. Then the networks can count results and show your ads to the right people.
Two pieces work together:
- The pixel is a small script on your site. It tells the network what people do after they click: view a page, add to cart, buy.
- Server-side conversions fill the gaps: blocked scripts, sales closed by phone, deals that sign weeks later in your CRM.
#Put a pixel on your site
- Open Ads, then Pixels, and pick the ad account.
- Most ad accounts already have a pixel. Open it. Only choose New pixel if you have none, because pixels cannot be deleted later.
- On the Install tab, find Install on a connected site. Pick your Shopify store or your WordPress, Wix or Webflow site, and choose Install. No theme edits needed.
- Open the Conversion events tab and add the events you care about, such as purchases, sign-ups or leads.
- Visit your site, then check the Activity tab to see it fire. On Meta, Diagnostics lists any problems.
No connected site? The Install tab also shows the code to paste into the head of every page.
#What each site gets
| Site | What the pixel records |
|---|---|
| Shopify | Page views, product views, add to cart, checkout, payment info and purchases |
| WordPress, Wix, Webflow | Page views |
The details for each site are in the site pixels docs.
#Send conversions from your server
Open Ads, then Conversions. Destinations lists where events can go on each network. Send and test lets you send a test event and see if the network accepted it. On Meta and Pinterest, Match quality shows how well your events match people.
Sending real events from your systems is usually a job for your developer. They can follow the conversions guide.
#Or ask your AI
Check which ad networks have a pixel on my Shopify store. Install the Meta and TikTok pixels if they are missing, then tell me if they fire.
#Good to know
- Pixels work on Meta, Google (the Google tag), TikTok, LinkedIn (the Insight Tag), Pinterest, X and ChatGPT. Reddit pixels are made in Reddit Ads Manager.
- Server-side conversions work on Meta, Google, LinkedIn, TikTok (offline events only), Pinterest, Reddit and ChatGPT. Not on X: measure X with the X Pixel.
- If the pixel and your server both report a sale, they must share the same event id, or the sale counts twice. Pozy's Shopify install sets one for you.
- Pozy scrambles (hashes) emails and phone numbers before they leave Pozy.
- On Shopify, the pixel follows your store's privacy settings. Where consent is needed, it only fires for visitors who accepted marketing.
- On Webflow, the pixel goes live the next time you publish your site. Pozy never publishes for you.
- On WordPress, some sites block scripts. If so, Pozy undoes the change and tells you another way to add it.
- On Wix sites with a cookie banner, the pixel only runs for visitors who accept advertising cookies.
- On Shopify, reinstall after you add conversion events on Google, LinkedIn or X.
