Calls, recordings and AI voice agents
Every Pozy number takes and makes phone calls. Send incoming calls to your team or to an AI voice agent, and keep recordings and transcripts.
#Send incoming calls somewhere
- Open Phone, then Numbers, and open your number.
- Under Calls, turn on Phone calls.
- Under Inbound routing, pick where calls go:
- Phone: rings a mobile or desk phone. Type the full number with the country code.
- SIP: sends the call to a phone system or a hosted AI voice agent.
- WebSocket: streams the call to an AI voice agent your developer runs.
- Add what you need:
- Voicemail: takes a message when nobody answers after about 25 seconds. It is on by default.
- Business hours: rings only during your opening hours. Other calls go to voicemail.
- IVR menu: "Press 1 for sales, 2 for support." Each key can go somewhere different.
- Blocked callers: numbers that always get a busy signal.
- Recording and transcription: keep the audio, the text, or both.
- Choose Save call settings.
#Place a call
Open Phone, then Calls, and choose Place a call. Type the number, pick which of your numbers it comes From, and choose what happens When they answer: connect them to a phone, an agent, or play a short message. The price shows before you dial. Detect answering machines can leave a voicemail message instead.
#Recordings and transcripts
The Calls page lists every phone and WhatsApp call on your numbers, with its length, cost, recording and transcript. You can search by name, number or words from the transcript. During a live call you can transfer it or Hang up.
#AI voice agents
The agent is yours, or one from a voice agent company you pick. Pozy runs the phone side: the number, the line, routing, recordings and call history. The agent runs the conversation.
- A hosted agent: set Inbound routing to SIP and paste the SIP address the agent company gives you.
- An agent you build: set it to WebSocket. Your developer has the details in the docs.
Your business hours, IVR menu and voicemail still work in front of the agent. Write the number the same way on both sides, with the + and the country code. A missing + is the usual reason a call connects and drops at once.
#Or ask your AI
Send calls to my London number to my mobile, +44 7700 900123, on weekdays from 9:00 to 18:00. Send all other calls to voicemail and turn on transcription.
#What it costs
- Calls: from $0.01 a minute, by country. Unanswered, busy and failed calls are free.
- Recording: $0.004 a minute. Transcription: $0.03 a minute. Both are off until you turn them on.
#Good to know
- A short consent notice plays before a recorded call. Recording laws differ by country and state, and you are responsible for following them.
- Transcripts work in English and Spanish, or set to detect the language.
- Up to 60 outgoing calls an hour across your numbers.
- Recording links expire after a few minutes. Load the call again to play it.
- Numbers do not support emergency calls.
- Browser calling lets your team call from your own web app with a headset. It needs a developer. See browser calling.
