Post updates, offers and events on Google
Post news, offers and events to your Google Business Profile. They show next to your business on Google Search and Maps.
They are a good place for this week's special, an event or a discount code.
#Do it in the dashboard
- Open Posts and choose Create post. You can also choose Post an update on the Google Business page.
- Pick your Google Business Profile account.
- Write the text and add one photo.
- Under Google Business Profile options, pick the Post type:
- Update: news, a new product, anything else.
- Event: add the Event title and the Starts and Ends dates. Times are optional.
- Offer: add an Offer title and dates, then a Coupon code, a Redeem online link or Terms and conditions.
- Add a Button if you want one: Learn more, Book, Order online, Buy, Sign up or Call now. Then add the Button link. Call now uses the phone number on your profile.
- If you manage several locations, pick the Location.
- Publish now or schedule it, like any post. See Create one post for every platform.
#Add photos to your listing
Photos on the listing itself are different from the photo in a post.
- Open Google Business, then Photos.
- Paste a public image link, pick a Category (like Cover, Logo, Exterior, Interior or Product) and choose Add photo.
- Google can take a few minutes to show it.
#Or ask your AI
Post an offer on our Google Business Profile: 20% off all haircuts this week with code WEEK20, ending Sunday. Add our salon photo and a Book button to our booking page. Show me before posting.
#Good to know
- A post holds up to 1,500 characters and one photo. Videos are not supported in posts.
- Use a JPEG or PNG of at least 400 x 300 px. 1200 x 900 px crops best. GIFs are refused.
- Use a full link for the button. Avoid link shorteners, because Google may not follow them.
- Google may review a post for up to 48 hours. On a location that is not verified, posts may not show at all. See Keep your Google Business Profile up to date.
- Your AI can change the text of a live post later. The photo, button and offer details stay as they were. To change those, publish a new post.
- Google gives no numbers for a single post. You get numbers for the whole location instead.
- Event and offer posts disappear after their end date.
- Customer photos on your listing cannot be removed through Pozy.
